As a personal injury and criminal defense attorney in Canton, Georgia, Mr. Ghanouni’s practice allows him to demonstrate his commitment to fighting for his clients while giving each one the personal attention their case demands.
A native of Marietta, Ga., Ghanouni earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice at Georgia State University, and a law degree from Georgia State’s College of Law. He was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2006.
In college, Ghanouni considered pursuing a career as a criminal prosecutor, but he soon realized he could be more effective in helping people as a defense attorney.
Today, he focuses on personal injury cases, including auto collisions, slip-and-fall accidents, wrongful death, and premises liability. Throughout his career, he has practiced in the courtroom, logging 11 jury trials and representing clients in appellate matters.
He is committed to standing up and fighting for individuals, whether they face government prosecution or are dealing with an insurance company trying to limit benefits after an accident or an injury.
Ghanouni has also served as a part-time Associate Magistrate Court Judge for Cherokee county and presides over criminal and civil cases. He keeps up-to-date on relevant appellate opinions and participates in many continuing legal education classes and events.
Outside the courtroom, Ghanouni studies different approaches to negotiating cases and reads trial strategy books to learn new presentation methods. He regularly reviews new appellate cases as soon as they are released. He is a regular presenter on legal issues before legal and community groups.
During his year as president of the Blue Ridge Bar Association, that association won the Georgia State Bar Presidents Cup award as the most outstanding local or voluntary bar association in the state.
Outside of his professional activities, Ghanouni is a visible and active member of his community and belongs to the Canton Optimist Club, serving as its president in 2011-2012. He and his wife are members of the Cherokee County Historical Society.
Despite the time he spends delving into his client work, Ghanouni is devoted to his wife and family, and enjoys traveling, camping and hiking.
