Larry Disparti started his legal career helping people gain access to their Social Security disability benefits when they were no longer able to work.
After earning his undergraduate degree in economics from the University of South Florida in 2000 and his law degree from Stetson School of Law in 2002, he joined his family’s law firm, became managing partner in 2004, and has overseen its steady growth. In addition to Social Security disability, he has also spent years representing personal injury clients and practicing insurance coverage litigation.
During the 2008 economic downturn, Disparti noticed that people’s debt problems were escalating, and he saw a need for a new kind of legal service to help them. So in 2011, he joined up with attorneys Paul R. Fowkes and Ryan Hasanbasic to create a special practice area of Disparti Law Group, devoted to helping people deal with debt collectors.
This problem was especially evident among his Social Security disability clients whose bills piled up as they waited for their benefits to be approved.
Over the years, he has seen individual debt collectors resort to using questionable and sometimes illegal methods in their attempts to collect.
Often, people don’t realize when collectors have crossed the line, because their actions are not clear, and Disparti finds it fulfilling to fight against overzealous debt collectors on behalf of people in dire financial straits.
He is licensed to practice in the Florida state courts, U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida and the Northern District of Illinois, the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, District of Columbia, and Illinois State Courts.
