As a successful Los Angeles Personal Injury Attorney, Steven Hilst has been fighting on behalf of wrongfully injured accident victims for more than 20 years, and has compiled a strong record of success, including numerous seven-figure verdicts and settlements. Since receiving his juris doctorate from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1987, he has mostly focused his practice on plaintiffs personal-injury work for several law firms in the Los Angeles area. He joined Banafesh, Danesh & Javid in late 2011.
In 2007, he won a $1.35-million verdict representing a motorcyclist who was injured when the driver of a pickup turned left in front of the plaintiff, striking him and causing mild traumatic brain injury. Another seven-figure outcome involving mild traumatic brain injury resulted from an arbitrator’s ruling for his client, who was injured when she stepped into a pothole in a mobile-home park, tripped, and fell.
In addition to his busy life as a trial lawyer, Steven has also long been active in professional activities. In 2001, he was given the rank of associate in the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only organization whose membership is restricted to the top trial attorneys in the U.S. He’s also served on the board of directors of the ABOTA/William J. Rea Inn of Court and was the first president of the California Supreme Court Justice Carlos Moreno Trial Practice Inn of Court, a fraternal organization that trial techniques to attorneys. He’s also served on the faculty of the ABOTA/Jack Daniels trial school.
Steven thoroughly enjoys teaching other lawyers and improving the profession. And he thoroughly enjoys working on behalf of people who have been wrongfully injured.
