Lawyer Joe King has lived in his hometown of Huntsville all of his life except for the seven years he spent as an undergraduate and law student at the University of Alabama.
Born and raised in Huntsville, King earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Alabama and continued on to the university’s law school on a full academic scholarship.
He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 2000.
King got his first taste of practicing law as an intern with Morris King & Hodge. After he passed the State Bar, he returned to the firm as a licensed attorney.
He has since earned professional recognition from a number of prestigious organizations. He has been named one of the National Trial Lawyers Association’s Top 100 and an Alabama SuperLawyer by SuperLawyers magazine.
King approaches his cases with honesty and believes that is the key to successful attorney-client relationships.
“I tell my clients, ‘I am always going to tell you the truth,’” he says. “You may not always like what I tell you, but I am going to shoot straight with you.”
King believes clients deserve to know all the facts about their case.
King’s approach with clients and in the courtroom has earned him a successful track record. He has won numerous cases and achieved significant settlements for his clients. In 2011, he resolved one of the largest wrongful death cases in Alabama.
He also has been appointed class counsel in multiple class actions and resolved many mass tort cases.
He served as the Madison County Bar Association’s secretary from 2007 until 2008, and is committed to giving back to his hometown. He serves on the board of the HuntsvilleChildCareCenter, an organization that provides child care for low income families. He is also on the board of trustees at TrinityMethodistChurch.
He enjoys spending time with his two young daughters and is an avid fan of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team.
