Stephen M. Cohen has represented thousands of individuals injured in automobile accidents, trip and fall cases, construction accidents and other types of mishaps.
When he founded the practice in 1980, he focused on personal injury, litigation and insurance law. He later divested the practice into no-fault collection in arbitration and judicial forums, representing health care providers against insurance carriers for bill collections relating to the treatment of individuals injured in automobile accidents.
Today his areas of practice include personal injury litigation, automobile accidents, trip and fall accidents, construction accidents and no-fault insurance.
He received his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law in Jamaica, N.Y. and was admitted to the New York Bar in 1973.
Among his firm’s personal injury verdicts and settlements are:
- $4 million for a motorcyclist who was paralyzed after being struck by a motor vehicle
- $1.2 million for a child passenger who sustained a fractured skull in a two-car collision
- $1.5 million for a worker who sustained a knee injury requiring arthroscopic surgery and psychological injuries in an elevator accident
