Christine Mary Doyle has had a long, successful career defending financial services institutions against litigation, most recently as associate general counsel for a nonprofit Fortune 100 company that offers pension and insurance products to nonprofit and governmental educational, cultural and research institutions. Her decision to join the Arnold Law Firm stems from her realization that in the current financial crisis facing our country, federal and state courts have become a more reliable resource for obtaining justice for individuals harmed by corporations and others than federal regulatory agencies or legislatures.

Ms. Doyle was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attended high school and college in California. After graduation from Ramona Convent Secondary School in Alhambra, she was a Phi Beta Kappa student at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and received her Bachelor of Arts degree, Summa Cum Laude, in 1979. She was awarded her law degree from the University of California, Davis, School of Law in 1982, where she was the author of articles about the federal government’s liability for personal injuries and property damage caused by nuclear weapons testing (“Issues in Nuclear Testing Litigation: An Introduction” and “Government Liability for Nuclear Testing Under the Federal Tort Claims Act”, University of California at Davis Law Review, Volume 15, pages 997 and 1003 (1982)). She passed the California bar exam in 1982 and was admitted to the Pennsylvania bar in 1983 and the New York bar in 1986. Today she is admitted to practice in federal and state courts of California, New York and Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining the Arnold Law Firm, Ms. Doyle defended her employers, two major financial services institutions, in complex litigation involving life and disability insurance matters, employment disputes, and insurer bad faith cases seeking punitive damages. She also has worked on a number of transactional matters and is very knowledgeable in privacy and marketing law. At the Arnold Law Firm, Ms. Doyle will be able to utilize her in-depth knowledge of insurer practices on behalf of her clients.

Ms. Doyle is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar, and the Association of Professional Insurance Women. She has been a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the Investment Company Institute, the College Savings Plans Network (CSPN) Lawyers Committee, and the American Council of Life Insurers.

Away from work, Ms. Doyle looks forward to spending time with family in Sacramento and Northern California, and outdoors hiking in the foothills and the Sierra. The former Manhattan resident plans to enjoy the more relaxed, less frenetic California lifestyle that many Manhattanites secretly envy. Ms. Doyle’s interests include support of the arts through her membership in the Center for Fiction, an organization in midtown Manhattan that encourages writers and particularly showcases the work of mystery, suspense and crime fiction writers. She has also been a donor member of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the country’s premier art museum, for more than fifteen years. She was a regular volunteer at a Manhattan homeless shelter and provided her services on behalf of a prominent nonprofit charitable organization.
